According to news agency ANI, the Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) will demonstrate peacefully on Monday in response to the pro-Khalistani extremists' attack at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, Canada.
Sangbad Voice 9, International Desk: Hours
after a tumultuous upheaval marred an Indian consular camp at the Hindu Sabha
Temple in Brampton, Canada, Mayor Patrick Brown declared his intention to
introduce a motion in the city council aimed at prohibiting protests within
places of worship throughout the municipality.
The recent assault on the Hindu Sabha Temple by Khalistani extremists has
incited widespread denunciation from Canadian political figures, including
opposition leader Pierre Poilievre, Toronto MP Kevin Vuong, and MP Chandra
Arya. "Our nation's leaders have woefully failed to safeguard the Hindu
community," remarked the Toronto MP. The violent confrontation, which
targeted Hindu-Canadian devotees, underscores the alarming surge in violence
associated with Khalistani extremism in Canada. This egregious incident
transpired on a Sunday, coinciding with a consular camp organized in
collaboration with the Hindu Sabha Mandir, situated near Toronto.
The Indian government has also expressed its condemnation of the assault on
Hindus at the temple, noting that Canadian authorities had been urged well in
advance to implement robust security measures for such events, which are
integral to routine consular operations. The attack has elicited considerable
backlash from prominent political figures, including Canadian Prime Minister
Justin Trudeau.
The Prime Minister underscored the paramount importance of religious
freedom, stating, “The acts of violence at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton
today are intolerable. Every Canadian possesses the inherent right to practice
their faith freely and securely. I extend my gratitude to the Peel Regional
Police for their prompt response in safeguarding the community and
investigating this incident,” he conveyed on X.
