Five climate activists draped a black cloth over UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s private, all arrested

Voice 9, International Desk: After draping a black cloth over UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's private residence in North Yorkshire in protest of his plan to "max out" the nation's oil and gas resources in the North Sea, five people were arrested.

According to CNN, on Thursday, Greenpeace environmental protesters were able to climb up a house close to Sunak's Richmond district. They gained access to the roof using ladders and climbing ropes, where they unrolled 200 square meters of "oil-black fabric" to cover a portion of the mansion, according to a statement from Greenpeace.

Of the five persons, two males, two women, and the remaining person were all arrested on suspicion of committing criminal damage and public annoyance. The last person was taken into custody on suspicion of making a public disturbance. According to North Yorkshire Police, everyone arrested was still in their custody.

According to the Prime Minister's Office, neither Sunak nor his family were there when the event occurred.  Oliver Dowden, the deputy prime minister, condemned the event and stated that he believed the British people were "sick of these stupid stunts.
